A two-month season celebrating the work of Hollywood icon Joan Crawford. Framed around the UK re-release of her two best known films, The Women and Mildred Pierce, the season looks at Crawford as a savvy business woman, trendspotter and screen chameleon.

To present this season, Aga Baranowska and I programmed an event titled An Afternoon with Joan, which included presentations about different facets of Crawford’s career by critic Pamela Hutchinson, academic Lucy Bolton and broadcaster Samira Ahmed.
