Unholy Women
In July 2018, The Final Girls were invited to curate a season for the Barbican.
We curated and presented Unholy Women, a season of films exploring the relationship between genre cinema and female anxiety. Confined, either physically or emotionally, women at the center of these films challenge established notions of femininity, control and hysteria.
Films included: The Mafu Cage (Karen Arthur, 1978), Dementia (John Parker, 1955) and Images (Robert Altman, 1972)
The season ran in July 2018 at the Barbican Cinema.
